         The Laundry Chute

   “Hee hee hee” Megan and i giggled. We were running away from my dogs,who were chasing us around the house. “Ahhhh run Megan faster Jacksright behind you” I ran and hide under the soft blankets in my bedroom.All I could hear was the jingling of the dog’s collars and Meganplayful screaming around the house as the dogs gave chase her. We hadplayed this game many times before.

I jumped out of the covers and just as i jumped my mom walked into the house and ruined it because she called the dogs outside.

“Megan now what are we going to do?” I said with a sigh.

Wewalked into the living room and I grabbed the tv remote. I turned it onand Megan said “hey wouldn’t it be fun to climb up the laundry chute?”

Justas Megan said that, I ran upstairs, opened the closet, and ran all theway downstairs into the garage and opened the small door. I looked upthen turned around to see Megan standing right behind me. “Go get thebroom Megan,” I said.

“Okay.”sheanswered me. She ran to the pantry where the broom was and came backdown to were I was. I had found a flash light hiding in some cardboardboxes. Megan stuck the broom up the chute as I shined a light up. “Didyou get all the spider webs Megan?,”I wondered.

“almost!” she said. “Okay, got them all.” Megan ran up stairs to thecloset where she looked down the smallish hole in the closet.

Isaid “I’m coming up now okay.”  I put my foot on the thin wooden bar onthe side. I wish there was a ladder in here. Megan shined the light inmy face. I looked around the chute, I could see 3 screws coming out ofthe wall. “Great.” I muttered to myself.

“Are you Okay Emily?” Megan called down.

“ Ya, i’m fine just tyring to figure out how to get up.” There wereonly two wooden bars at the bottom and then two more right above them.If I step there then push myself up Megan could help me up. “I think Igot it.” I said. I started to climb up the chute and I could almostpoke my head out the top. How do I get up threw the hole? I must haveto slide up the shoot inch by inch. “Okay.” I took a deep breathe in.When I got to the top I said “ grab my hand and try to pull me up.”Megan grabbed my hand and started to pull. “I can’t do it Megs, whydon’t you try Okay.” “Okay I will meet you at the bottom where the doorwas. I climb down to see that it was dark in the shoot. Pushing andpushing at the door I had realized I was locked inside. Connor Ithought, he would do this to me. “Megan” I yelled. She should be downstairs by now. I looked up I could see Connor putting a piece of woodover the hole. Then I could hear the closet door crack when it closed.“Come on, could this get any better?”

All of a sudden I could hear Connors voice say “ Emily went outside looking for you.”

“Great, now i’m stuck in here.” The front door slammed closed. A few minutes later the door opened again.

Iheard Megan say, “shes still in the chute I bet.” Megan ran doownstairsthe garage door opened and the chute lit up threw the cracks.

“I’m in here Megan.” Megan opened the door and I jumped out of the chute. “finally your here, I thought you would never come.”
