   Animal Rampage

The plane was warm with the air from the open door. Africa was amazing. All the animals down below. I can just imagine the news papers“Stanly Morris world famous explorer”  I can’t wait!

“Africais way different then Canada, eh?” Mitchell said in his loud voice. Meand Mitchell have been best friends ever since my parents died in that awful plane crash. We have gone on all our adventures together.

The helicopter was shaking under my sweaty hands as we drifted through theair. Gliding like the soft wing beat of the mighty eagle. “There it is!” Mitchell shouted. I looked out the plane window and there it was.The place we have been looking for for months. The beautiful waters ofHitchicucu. Mitchell sat down and clicked his buckle in. I could see him smiling bigger then ever. The plane lowered slowly. The crunch of the rocks was the only sound when we hit the rocky part of the beach.Mitchell screaming out a little girly scream. I looked over at himslowly. He looked back. We burst out laughing and jumping up and down.

We unbuckled and hopped out of the plane and started running, jumping and laughing. We were more happy then we had ever been in our whole lives. After years of being pushed around by our families, the two young menwere free to explore and do whatever they wished to do.

We ran around a bit more before jumping back into the helicopter. We slipped on our wet suits, goggles and flippers. We pulled out our airtanks and hooked them all up. We walked down to the water, waddling like ducks. They stood at the edge. Looking at their reflection.....1.......2.......3!!!!!!!!

We hopped in the water. The icy water was like thousands of needles allover my body. But we still went in anyway. After 30 minutes of being inthe water we got out sopping wet. The air tanks were heavy so I started to take it off.

Ilooked over at Mitchell, he was dead frozen in his tracks. His face wasfrozen with fear. I slowly turned my head to where Mitchell's eyes werefocused on. I stood frozen with fear. Water dripping down my face. Iwanted to let out a scream, just like the one Mitchell had let out anhour ago. But I knew I shouldn't. Twenty feet away a giant Elephant stood attacking the helicopter. He grabbed the the tail with his trunk and twisted it to the ground.

The elephant stopped and looked straight at us. It’s fierce eyes fixed onus. I couldn't breath. My fear had taken over my body. I had no ideawhat was going to happen. It’s eyes still on us. The crunching of rockswas the only thing that made me turn my head. Mitchell had let his fear take over his legs and he was running as fast as his skinny legs couldgo.

The screech of the Elephant came from behind. It was the loudest thing I had ever heard, and with that i was running as fast as my legs could carry me. I tripped over my own feet a couple of times but I did not look back because I could hear the heavy pounding of the elephants footsteps.

I felt a hand grab my wrist and yank me to the side. My body hitting the hard rocks. I looked around, it was all dark. I head my voice being called. Mitchell was sitting at the end of the cave he dragged me into.He was shaking from head to toe. The cave was freezing cold. We did not say a thing. The distant scream of an elephant let us know that it was okay to whisper, but we did not.

Theground started to vibrate, we looked around. What was going on?  We were frightened, we had no idea what to do. Mitchell cupped a hand around his wide open mouth. He curled up into a tight ball.

Atthat second a giant elephant trunk flew into the cave. We both let out  ear piercing screams. Then a man slid down the trunk. He jumped off and yelled “gotcha”!!!!

I was confused. Mitchell had fainted. What was going on. A quiet humstarted to fill the air. It was kinda like Music. The sound was gettinglouder and louder till..........BANG! Hundreds of people standing outside the cave with music. I was so confused. Mitchell’s eyes were everywhere.

The man who had slid down the trunk ran out of the cave, motioning usto follow him. I jumped up and ran out. Mitchell was right at my heels.I was dizzy. I stumbled out of the cave. I got down on my knees and Ilooked up at the wild eyed man.

I was shaking all over. Sweat beading down my forehead. The man gotdown on his knees. He put his face inches away from my face. “GOTCHA!”he shouted again. I looked around confused and scared. I glanced overat the giant elephant. There were 5 men crawling out of a whole in theside of the elephant.

Thefive men each grabbed a piece of the thick grey stuff hanging over thegiant body. Then one smooth movement. They tore down the grey revealinga bunch of wires, metal bars and more men. Even a couple of woman.

A woman in jeans and a light blue shirt walked over to me with cozylooking blanket. She had a kind looking face with rosy red cheeks, freckles and a nice sweet smile. She wrapped the blanket around me. Shethen turned and walked swiftly through the crowd of people hard atwork. She was like a ghost or a lost puppy.

I turned my attention over to the men explaining the whole story . Iturned out that me and Mitchell had been on a reality show called“animal rampage”. We told them that we had never seen or heard aboutit. They all looked surprised and We then explained how we had grown upwith no television.

The wild eyed man apologized  for everything and bought us a newhelicopter. They gave us a ride back to  Canada. They also gave us each$10,000 each. The one thing I have learned from this experience is thatHollywood is full of wackoes looking for fame. And  I never wanna goback. What happens in Africa stays in Africa

                    THE END
