  Dylan                            About My Writing

I think my writing has improved since the beginning of the school year. I like writing in the lab but I prefer silent  writing in the class. Mr. Rennie has taught a lot more about writing than last years class, because Ms. Johnson never really did teach writing.

My blog about writing.

                                               My blog about writing

I like writing a lot and I've learned that there's a lot of steps to write a story like, details and description, leads of the story, thoughts and feelings and many more. Making a story from October till now made me proud of myself because today I write better stories than I used to do before making it my best improvement yet. The most challenging part is to me is probably details and description because I used to rush when writing making my story less details and description.  Writing has  always been a challenge to me starting from 4th grade. But thanks to Mr. Rennie I have achieved on making a good story every time.  My favorite part about writing is making good leads because a like good leads when I read a book.  My questions about writing is that are the steps that mr. Rennie taught us is good enough to make a book?.  But in anyway we do writing i'm glad I improved my stories really good.:D8):D

                                               About my Writing

I think my writing is getting better every minute I'm on the computer writing stories and poems.

I think writing is getting funner while I'm writing stories and poems. I think I have improved 8/10 since I started grade six. And I think I have improved a lot.

About My Writing

I think that my writing is getting better and better. Like at the begining of the year I was a bad writer but now im getting better. Like I used to write something that had one or two paragraphs but now I'm writing like five to seven paragraphs and my mom is saying that I'm getting better, same with Mr.rennie and me and that is all.

Writing

Writing I find can be quite fun.... but with writing every day it's hard to think of a good long topic. I think maybe we should do maybe once or twice a week. And I think we should do more typing instead of writing.... Anyways I think writing can be fun but most of the time I can't think of something. :P

Attention Parents

Hello All. I hope the title grabbed your attention because not only will I do my usual rundown of events in the lab but I need to ask a favour. Parents I would like you to please do the Writing Survey again, yes again. I've collected the previous results and would like to compare them to this new set to see if your attirudes about student writing have changed. Your child has learned how to publish online in google docs and how to post on our website. They have shared orally and sent their documents to each other. They have made two slideshows and presented them in class. They have written stories and poems galore. All this writing is available for you to read if they (or you) log in to either location. I hope this increased output and audience will make them more engaged, more excited about writing. So please do the survey again. Your kids will do it tomorrow in the lab.

Today in the lab, kids had a choice to write a praise poem or a lessons learned memoir. Some got to both of these. I was once again amazed at their improved capacity to write silently and with great focus. They shared their docs with others and proceeded out into the fresh cold air at recess. One girl complained on behalf of all the girls with "no meat on their bones" that it was too cold but the comment fell on deaf ears. I went out with them to make sure no one froze solid outside. Tomorrow some will post on the website so keep an eye out for new stuff.

Thanks

                The Land Of Dreams

The land of dreams is a wonderful, beautiful, warm place. The land is sand and rocks mixed together. They create a light brown colour with yellow near the water. The higher up shore the darker the sand and rocks get and the lower down the lighter. In some parts of the land there are black patches, but they make it more beautiful. The sound is a small whistle from far away. You can hear the water against the shore but it is a very faint sound. It sounds like waves crashing against the shore on a windy day but much much more quiet. The water is a big drop off from the minute you step into the water. The colour of the water starts out a light blue-green colour then turns into a magnificent blue when it goes a little deeper. The wonderful blue turns into a dark blue in the deepest part of the water. All the colours mixed together make a beautiful colour and they all seem to fit into place with each other. The air is dry like at the top of a mountain. It smells like spices from a cupboard. It is a beautiful place to visit but I'm not to sureabout living there.

The Rushing Waterfall

The waterfall is rushing down the rocks. The driftwood is white and the trees are fresh. The mist coming off the waterfall is cool and the sand is warm . Most of the waterfall is in the shade but the beach is in the sun . The water is loud and crazy as it comes down . There isnt a breeze and there is barely any people . The few people there are playing in the water .

Peace Is...

Peace Is...

Peace Feels Like...Petting my dogs black curly hair by the fire place

My mom giving me back massages warmth of my fire place heating my body up.

Peace Smells like...A bouquet of tulips picked from the garden

lemons boiling on the stove.

cherry scent candles lit

apple pie just coming out of the oven

Peace Looks Like...

A dog and a cat cuddling together in a basket. the clouds moving high in the sky

The fresh new snow fall from the sky and make a coat of snow on the lawn

The Mountains getting hid by the white fluffy clouds.

PeaceTastes like...Liking Vanilla ice cream on a hot summer day

Cold water flowing down my body hot tea making your throat heat up

Soft warm chocolate chips come out fresh from the oven.

Peace Sounds Like...A quiet day of just relaxing

only hearing your heartbeat

The waves crashing against the rocks when your sleep in

The Best Day At Beach

I can feel the ocean breeze on my face as I  walk across the beach. I can smell of pine trees as well in my nose. I start running in to the water and splashing around and going for swims deep out and then I get out of the water. I start to shiver so I get my towel and wrap my self up in the nice, warm, soft towel. I'm lying on the ground looking at the clouds making shapes then I sit up. Now I can see the Salmon. I can hear them racing down the water. The sunset is coming, my mom is probably looking for me. I've got to go, bye.
